Foolstr is a simple website that lets you publish your nuggets of wisdom and vote on other people's theories. In a way it's an experiment to see if you reduce the barriers of entry to content submission as much as possible, will folks participate?

Yes, Foolstr's testing the waters in a couple of areas;

1.  * Do you need registration to have a social site?
2. * If users are anonymous, will they submit quality content?
3. * Will the community self-organize its content?
4. * Is OpenID a viable technology as the sole means of sign-in and registration?

We're sure to learn a lot more than that but this is a good list to start with.

This is a fun site but we take privacy very seriously. There's NO personal information gathered and NO need to register. Of course there are benefits to registering but it's entirely up to you.

The name is inspired by the phrase "baka no hitotsu oboe" which we believe* roughly translated means "The Fool is proud of the one thing he knows". We all know at least ONE thing, so why not share it?
